Got an email yesterday from Walter about using left hands chords with the Layer Method program.
His words:

“Tim, Will it hurt to play chords traditionally with the left hand while taking this course? I have spent lots of time learning them and a full triad G really sounds nicer than a G note. But I don’t know if this impacts learning your course which is fantastic the way it is. No need to answer right away. This is the weekend for you. Thanks Walter”

Here’s the answer.

It will not hurt to use left hand chords with the Layer Method.

The reason we use the octave stretch is because it’s easier to accomplish quicker and sounds awesome. And when we add the fifth to the octave stretch you are really only missing one note.

Sounds rich and full either way.

The Layer Method is meant to get you playing. With both hands and with songs you love. You can always switch things up any way you want. You can add previous learning skills to it. There are no rules.

And we don’t use rulers here to slap at hands either.

Just a simple, powerful, and amazingly effective method to make piano players…

…regardless of how many times you have tried and failed before.

Schools about to start.

You could get the program today and be playing by Thanksgiving break. Way before most likely.
