Finally a way to say it that is authentic.
Not just fluffy, woohooo, I am awesome and can do anything type of affirmations.
A real life, honest way to keep on keeping on.
There are always reasons to doubt yourself.
Lot’s of evidence saying:
you aren’t good enough
you always fail, this will be just like the last time
you’re not smart enough, remember your grades?
you aren’t a risk taker
you will look stupid
you don’t have the time
you’re too old
Sound familiar?
I hear ya.
I got a tape recorder in my head that sometimes says all of those things and more.
I constantly choose to keep believing in myself even when there are mountains of evidence to the contrary.
And you can too.
Let me tell you a little something about my PianoFool students.
Most of them are failures many times over.
They have been through multiple teachers, bought many programs online, and have all the evidence in the world that they will never play the piano like they always dreamed.
Yep. bunch of losers I hang out with.
But they didn’t stop believing that it could be possible.
Just a glimmer of hope gave them enough courage to give my Layer Method a shot.
And thats when it all changed.
Even though they had all the evidence to prove it wouldn’t work for them, they tried it anyway.
And for the ones who practice, followed the step by step program…
well…
…they are now piano players.
And the ones who fail?
Well they are easy to spot from the very beginning.
They ask the most questions before buying.
You know why?
They don’t believe in what’s possible anymore, they are simply trying to validate the evidence of failure that they carry around with them.
Takes a lot of questions to really validate that failure.
It takes action to follow a belief in whats possible. Both ways can end up in failure, but only one has the chance to succeed.
It’s okay to believe in yourself. You can learn to play piano by ear.
You have my permission, no matter how weird it feels.
You will get used to it.
